General Information

Welcometo Vista Virtual School. Vista Virtual school is part of AlbertaDistance Learning Centre, which has offered quality education toAlbertans for more than 80 years. Our students are provided withquality accredited education that follows the Alberta curriculum. UnderAlberta legislation, Vista Virtual school has the same responsibilitiesand funding as traditional public schools in Alberta.

VistaVirtual school offers flexible programming. Students can learn at theirown pace. However, we expect our students to complete all their coursework during the school year (Sept to June). Students are providedwith individual timelines and regular contact and assistance from ourteachers. We take pride in the relationships that we build with ourstudents. Assignments are graded promptly and returned quickly withsuggestions from teachers. Students and parents can check theirprogress and marks on our website at any time using their ownpasswords. Formal report cards are given four times per year.

Eachyear, we host two parent-teacher-student interviews and severalopen houses for our students and families. We also offer field tripsand cultural opportunities for our students and their families. EachJune, a formal cap and gown ceremony is held for our Grade 12graduates.

We provide a total Grade 1 to 12 education program using both print andon-line resources. We offer a Christian-based program and a FrenchImmersion program. We also offer Work Experience and Special Projectsfor our high school students. We strive to meet the needs of Alberta’s students in Grades 1 to 12, both those living in Alberta and those travelling with their families.
