Introducing Canada’s First Online and Mobile Small Business Course for High School Students
Where Education Meets Gaming
ADLC and GoForth Institute are bringing entrepreneurship to the next generation of Canadian business leaders. GoForth Institute (GoForth) has developed Canada’s first online small business and entrepreneurship course for high school students.
Delivered in partnership with Alberta Distance Learning Centre (ADLC), the new entrepreneurship course will combine GoForth’s leading small business training with an innovative technology platform.
Alberta high school students can now learn about small business as a career option.
How does it work?
Students learn to do by doing.
This new 5 credit online course will allow Alberta students in Grades 10, 11, and 12 the opportunity to learn about small business and to hone entrepreneurial skills and management practices.
Core curriculum is delivered
Students will have access to video game mechanics, streaming high-definition videos and the convenience of complete mobility with an iPad – the course can also be taken on a computer.
Teachers can monitor performance
In addition to learning entrepreneurial skills, students will practice making business decisions through a small business simulation application developed by Calgary firm Robots and Pencils, and integrated into the course material.
