Students are required to pay postage on all materials sent to Alberta Distance Learning Centre. ADLC pays the outgoing surface postage on all items mailed to any address in Canada or the United States.
Substantial air mail deposits are required for students with addresses outside Canada or the United States. Details are available upon request from Alberta Distance Learning Centre.
D2L (Desire2Learn) is a program that runs from our website to provide access to courses. You do not need to install anything to use D2L. You can access your courses in D2L through a web browser such as Internet Explorer. The website address is https://d2l.adlc.ca .
After receiving the application for an online course, ADLC processes the form for materials to be shipped and activates the Internet courses. The student and school contact is notified by e-mail, if provided, or by mail. The e-mail provides start-up instruction, teachers' names, and access passwords for courses and FirstClass.
If a registration form is submitted and you have not received a communication from ADLC within 3 to 10 days (3 if faxed or 10 if mailed), contact us.
