Welcome to Career And Life Management!
This course is designed to help students make informed decisions, by exploring different aspects of their lives.  CALM covers three themes; Resource Choices, Career and Life Choices, and Personal Choices.

CALM is required for an Alberta High School Diploma.  This is a 3 credit course and there is a final exam.

CALM is available to students online or in Print. A CD ROM and the LifeChoices texts are required for both variants. 

The online variant consists of 7 assignments, 3 quizzes, and a final exam.  The content is online.  Assignment 7 is released upon receipt of a declaration letter, choosing between the topics Human Sexuality or Culmination.

The print variant consists of 7 assignments and a final exam.  The content is in three coiled module books.  Assignment 7 is released with the receipt of a declaration letter, choosing between the topics Human Sexuality or Relationships.

Human Sexuality: CALM print and Online

Students identify expectations and commitments in various relationships.  Topics include comparing choices for sexual involvement, describing the role of values, beliefs, and trust in relationships, considering the ongoing responsibility for personal sexual health, and determining sexually healthy behaviours, including abstinence.  Students analyze strategies for responsible and respectful sexual expression and assess the risks of being sexually active.

Relationships: CALM print
*Healthy relationships and lifestyle choices are the topics of this assignment.  It explores decision-making in various relationships.  Students identify relationship expectations and commitment.  It allows for personal reflection and the ability to make positive life choices when developing and maintaining healthy relationships.

Culmination: CALM online

*This is a review of all topics covered throughout the online course, via journal entries.
