Diploma Exam Writing Locations

As we work together to prepare students to write Diploma Exams, ADLC wants to ensure your students are as successful as possible. ADLC teachers will provide as much instructional and exam preparation support to your students as needed. We are seeking your assistance regarding exam writing locations. We know that where a student writes the exam has an impact on their success. It would be beneficial for students who are enrolled in ADLC courses at your school, to write their diploma exam at the familiar environment of their own school. Students who work on ADLC courses from a different place, such as their home, may need to use a provincial writing center.

We have been reminded by Alberta Education that “Students registered in online learning programs must be given the same opportunity and necessary supports to write provincial assessments as students in a classroom – based setting”. The Guide to Education reference in this regard is on page 87.

We ask that affiliates plan to have your students write diploma exams at your school whenever possible. We rely on you to ensure that students and their parents/guardians are fully aware of the expectations when writing diploma exams. The General Information Bulletin has all of the details.

If you have any questions about the logistics of registration and or the process of preparing for diploma exams, please contact Partner Support. If you have other administrative questions, please contact ADLC Principal Steven Kaplan at steven.kaplan@adlc.ca.
