Holiday Break Closure

As there have been a few changes in dates for this school year, we would like to give you as much notice as possible, so you may plan accordingly.

December 23 – January 3 – Holiday break for ADLC teachers (support staff available Dec. 23, Jan. 2-3)
December 24-January 1 – ADLC closed for the holiday break
March 31 – deadline for registering for 3-5 credit Student Instruction (SI) courses
May 15 – deadline for registering for 1-credit SI courses
June 15 – last day for non-diploma courses  unless otherwise stated by the ADLC teacher
June 26 – last day of school – all SI courses finalized, SI course expiry

Diploma Course Information

Diploma courses have the coursework submission deadlines noted below, unless otherwise stated by the ADLC teacher, to allow for assessment prior to diploma exams.

Scheduling diploma exams for students remains the responsibility of the affiliate school.

January 7 – diploma course completion date for January diplomas
March 25 – diploma course completion date for April diplomas
June 2 – diploma course completion date for June diplomas

Provincial Achievement Tests (PATs)

For 2019-20, the PATs will be administered between January 15 – 31, May 4 – 8 and June 15 – 26 (specific schedules set by school authority superintendents).

We encourage you to provide your grade 6 and 9 students, who are registered in ADLC SI courses, with the opportunity to write Provincial Achievement Tests. See the Alberta Education PAT webpage for more information.
