This Grade 1 Math program is based on the Alberta Curriculum and uses the RightStart program, which was designed to ensure that students both understand and enjoy mathematics. This proven approach is based on the research of Dr. Joan A. Cotter and uses the AL Abacus® and other manipulatives to help develop mastery of key concepts through visual, auditory, and kinesthetic activities. An integral part of this hands-on learning is Cotter’s Math Cards Games book that teaches over 300 games in eight chapters. These games have been designed to emphasize visual strategies through a logical and organized approach.
Note: Enrolment is limited.
