Discovering the world! This course, based on the Alberta curriculum, will help students see themselves as part of the larger world. They’ll also explore how families and communities have changed over time.

This courses focuses on four main topics:

  • Where is My Community?
  • My Community and Me
  • Groups and Communities
  • Stories about the Past

Grade 1 Social Studies Facilitator Package

Material Description
The Guide for Learning is for the instructor to help teach the Grade 1 Social Studies curriculum by guiding the student through various reading, writing, and discovering activities. Anchor books are books that pertain to the unit being studied. Additional optional activities are suggested. Throughout the units, target goal assessments for instructor and student are given.
