August 25, 2011 - Press Release

Workplace Safety Systems (HCS3000), Workplace Safety Practices (HCS 3010) and Agriculture Safety (AGR 3000) are BRAND NEW COURSES as of July 15/2011.

These courses were created through a partnership with Job Safety Skills Society and as a result all the courses offer imbedded certification at the Silver and Gold level. Each course includes 3 assignments plus a mandatory Practice Test and Final. In order to achieve certification students must choose the Silver or Gold level, write the final test for that level, and obtain a minimum overall course mark of 70%. (The Silver test is all multiple choice questions while the Gold is all short answer questions. The content covered on each test is similar.)  If students do not achieve 70% but do achieve 50% or greater and do not want the certification they will still receive the Alberta Education credit for the courses.

June 21, 2011 - Principal Survey Results

Thank you to all (103) who participated in Alberta Distance Learning Centre's (ADLC) Principal Survey recently. We appreciate the time you took to complete the survey and value your opinion. Responses to this survey help us know how we might better support students. Each year, we will request your thoughts about ADLC's services and programs we provide to your school to ensure that we deliver high quality instructional materials and program flexibility to enhance student learning in your distributed learning environment.

Rob Colvin of the Calgary Board of Education is the winner of the iPad for his school.  Congratulations, Rob!
